It’s bad news for face-paint fans this afternoon, as US rock band KISS have announced the cancellation of the first of six UK dates on their headline tour this summer. The group were all set to play at Plymouth’s Home Park stadium on 3 June, but unfortunately a statement on the venue’s website now informs us the gig has been shelved. “Sadly, KISS and Robomagic, the show’s promoter, have today announced that they are having to cancel the opening night of the upcoming KISS UK tour.”

Upon announcing the farewell concerts last December, KISS said: “All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who’ve filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years.
“This will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen us and a last chance for those who haven’t. KISS Army, we’re saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we’ll go out the same way we came in… Unapologetic and Unstoppable.”
Recently, it was announced that a KISS biopic is in the works. We can only hope, unlike the first show of their UK run of shows, that it won’t be canned too.
