Brighton’s punk powerhouse, Lambrini Girls, are back, shaking the airwaves with their new single ‘God’s Country,’ premiered proudly by BBC Radio 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq.

Known for their raucous live shows and pointed lyrics, Phoebe Lunny, Lilly Macieira, and drummer ‘Banksy’, continue to carve out a significant space within the punk scene.

The video for ‘God’s Country’, a self-directed effort with Jessie Morgan, juxtaposes the grandeur of Buckingham Palace against stark statements on UK poverty, highlighting the band’s knack for blending high-energy music with potent social commentary. You can watch it below.

The single is a scathing critique of Great Britain’s colonial legacy and current political turmoil. The band explains, “Great Britain. Think colonial, shit-hole, chunk of land. Thriving off unhinged nationalism, fed to us by the right red hand of unelected prime ministers. Despite this, we have the audacity to call our country ‘Great’. So we ask you, ‘Are you sure?’”

After lighting up a sold-out Moth Club, Lambrini Girls are gearing up for their biggest headline show yet at London’s SCALA on June 13th, 2024. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.

In addition to their headline show, Lambrini Girls have a packed schedule with performances at SXSW, Wide Awake, Reading & Leeds Festivals, and Manchester Psych Fest, promising a year filled with unmissable live punk anthems and politically charged energy.

For those ready to dive into the tumultuous waves of ‘God’s Country’ and catch the electric live experience of Lambrini Girls, mark your calendars. From the depths of Brighton’s punk scene to the grand stage of Scala, Lambrini Girls are on a mission to challenge, entertain, and provoke.
