UK-born, now LA-based pop artist Laurel has unveiled her latest single, ’45 Degrees,’ a refreshing precursor to her forthcoming album, Palpitations, set for release on June 14th. The track, which offers a tantalising glimpse into the new album, celebrates the warmth and freedom of summer.
Described by Laurel as an ode to rising temperatures, ’45 Degrees’ blends soft tones with alluring melodies to create a song about passion and escapism. In discussing the track, Laurel said, “The love you feel is so deep yet the life you live in this love is lighthearted, heady, euphoric, and youthful. It sends you crazy when you are not near them, they are the one that can cool you down like a breeze on a summer’s day. They are the cure, yet they are also the sickness.”
The music video, co-created with Elliott Arndt, captures this sentiment perfectly, opening with a luxurious West Coast beach scene that invokes a longing for the bright days of summer.
Fans of Laurel can look forward to seeing her live in the UK this autumn, with tour dates scheduled in Glasgow, Manchester, and London:
