In a surprise but welcome move, Liam Gallagher and John Squire are hinting at what could be one of the most exciting collaborations in recent rock history. Could we really see a crossover between Oasis and The Stone Roses?

Gallagher recently set the internet ablaze by sharing a website link – gallaghersquire.com, inviting fans to join a mailing list specifically for a Liam Gallagher and John Squire collaborative album. This tantalising teaser has sparked speculation about an epic musical event that could be in the works.

The two rock icons have been acquainted for over two decades, and Gallagher first floated the idea of a joint album earlier this year. He took to Twitter to hint at his plans and later elaborated in an interview with Apple Music 1’s Matt Wilkinson. Gallagher revealed, “Yeah. Serious, man. But we’ve got things to do first, and he’s got things to clear up and that. But yeah, I’m definitely going to do summat at some point.”

Gallagher’s enthusiasm doesn’t stop there. He went on to make a bold claim in a tweet, saying the album would be “better than Revolver”, a nod to the legendary Beatles album. When a fan challenged this ambitious statement, Gallagher confidently responded: “What’s coming your way is bigger I’m being humble it pisses all over it.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Gallagher shared an Instagram video celebrating John Squire’s iconic guitar skills, captioning it: “John Squire without a doubt the best guitarist of his generation and in the world in my opinion”.

While John Squire himself hasn’t made a statement yet, with The Stone Roses currently on hiatus, this could be the perfect time for such a groundbreaking collaboration. Fans eagerly await more details; if the stars align, this album could mark a monumental moment in rock music history.
