London-based singer, songwriter, and producer Kate Wild has released her much-anticipated debut EP, Hopeless Optimist. After making her mark in the dance music scene with featured vocal samples amassing over 400 million streams, Kate now showcases her talents as a pop songwriter.

Discussing her debut, Kate said, “This EP journeys through my heartache in the exhausting world of dating via screens and statistics, while taking my bad judgments lightheartedly and acknowledging the growth and confidence it’s given me moving forward. To quote the writer, Case Kenny: ‘I’d rather be a hopeless optimist than stop believing there are still good people and rewarding experiences left in the world.’”

Kate’s first official single, ‘Everything I Hate About You,’ dropped in March 2024, setting the resilient tone of the EP with its honest lyrics and confident vibe. Hopeless Optimist continues this theme with tracks like ‘Heartache’, which brings out her Scandi-pop influences, and ‘Who You Are’, a reassuring anthem of inner strength. The EP closes with ‘When It Rains’, a track that pairs lyrics of heartache with feel-good sonics.

Her voice has been sampled by major artists including Cardi B and Bring Me The Horizon, accumulating streams in excess of 400 million. She’s received support from BBC Radio 1, Capital Dance, and Kiss FM, and has made a significant impact in the EDM scene with chart-topping singles and notable awards.

Kate describes herself as “notoriously talking too much,” but it’s clear she has a lot to say and a big voice to say it with. Her debut EP, Hopeless Optimist, channels her innermost thoughts and feelings into powerful pop bops that are sure to be on repeat for many.
