As its title suggests, the new tune details the emotional ride that comes with having a one-night stand with someone you met online.
It follows the release of ‘New Boyfriend’ in September (via Lynks’ Heavenly Recordings label home), continuing his approach of balancing diaristic accounts of the modern world with lyrics that evoke genuine introspection – all packaged with a danceable electro beat.
Have a listen to the new track below, which arrives with a video that also showcases Lynks’ fine choreography work.
Speaking on the track, Lynks shares in his usual witty charm: “Now, Grindr can be a wonderful thing – don’t get me wrong. But I wrote this song during a time when I was using Grindr almost like TikTok or Instagram; as a way to distract myself from reality – to not be alone with my thoughts.
“And, unsurprisingly, the sex that came from that wasn’t hugely fulfilling. I was seeking these encounters to try and distract myself from the mundanity of life, but ultimately leaving them feeling no different.

“I wanted to try and capture that weird oxymoron; sex without feeling, romance in a coma. What does sex become when it’s devoid of emotion? Transactional? Routine? Obligatory? Compulsive? It’s a funny idea. And one I hadn’t really heard put to music before. So I thought I’d better do it! And shout out the Docklands Light Railway in the process.”
With recent landings on Spotify billboard with ‘New Boyfriend’, BBC 6Music A-listings via the ‘Use It Or Lose It’ single, and support tours with Metronomy and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Lynks is currently enjoying a momentous time.
And now he’ll be heading off on tour across the UK and Europe next year, with European shows announced today, adding to the already announced UK shows.
The dates will include shows at Bristol’s SWX, Leeds’ The Wardrobe and London’s KOKO, before further nights on the continent, including Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin.
