In what seems a surprising collaboration, Machine Gun Kelly has announced a one-off show at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 31 May, with tickets available here later this week.

In a statement, the Royal Albert Hall’s Director of Programming, Matthew Todd, said: “The Hall has been a home for trailblazers, innovators and cultural icons since we opened in 1871.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome MGK later this year, one of the leading artists of his generation and someone that has evolved constantly as the best artists do.”

MGK – real name Colson Baker – will squeeze the performance (titled ‘A Night With Machine Gun Kelly) in on 31 May, before embarking on a number of appearances at European festivals over the summer.

The musician’s sixth studio album, Mainstream Sellout, was released in March 2022 and he last performed in the UK in October, playing Wembley Arena.

It’s not been all plain sailing for MGK lately. Last month, his directorial debut film Good Mourning was nominated for an impressive seven Golden Raspberry Awards, including ‘Worst Picture’ – the night’s biggest prize.

The ‘Razzies’ are a parody awards show, celebrating the worst in cinema. Good Mourning is described as a “laugh-free stoner comedy” on the site, and scored a big, fat zero on Rotten Tomatoes.
