Slowthai has been removed from the online line-ups of both Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds festivals, after the rapper was charged with two counts of rape.

The rapper, real name Tyron Frampton, was scheduled to perform at Glastonbury this June, before appearing at Reading and Leeds on 26 August and 27 August respectively.

Though neither festival has commented on the ongoing situation, both have quietly removed Slowthai from their digital line-ups

Slowthai appeared before magistrates in Oxford yesterday, charged with oral and vaginal penetration of a woman without her consent over an incident dating back to September 2021.

The Grammy and Mercury-nominated rapper appeared via video link, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.

He was released on bail and the case will now move to the crown court, where Slowthai will appear on 16 June.

Slowthai himself released a statement about the rape charges yesterday, saying he “categorically denies the charges” and is “confident [his] name will be cleared”.
