Beabadoobee’s back. Her latest single, ‘Ever Seen’, along with an eye-catching music video shot in Japan, is available for your listening and viewing pleasure now. This track is the third release from her upcoming album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, which is set to drop on 16th August via Dirty Hit.

Early reviews are already buzzing about the album. The Guardian praises it as “some of Laus’s richest, most direct songwriting yet,” and The Telegraph describes Beabadoobee as “Gen Z’s favourite bedroom-pop star” sticking to her signature “hazy introspection and dreamlike vocals.” It’s clear this album is poised to take her from internet darling to household name, all under the expert guidance of producer Rick Rubin.

The video for ‘Ever Seen’ captures a Groundhog Day-esque narrative of passionate delirium, echoing the chaotic yet sweet aspects of Beabadoobee’s life. Reflecting on the creation of ‘Ever Seen’, Bea explains, “I wrote it on the road during my tour with Taylor Swift. It was originally a pure country song but evolved into something more soaring and euphoric, with zig-zagging strings and pummelling percussion.” The song captures the elation and chaotic possibilities she felt coming up at Glastonbury, a perfect soundtrack for festival-goers and fans alike:

This Is How Tomorrow Moves features previously released singles ‘Take A Bite’ and ‘Coming Home’. The album marks a significant departure from Bea’s bedroom recordings, which were created in Rick Rubin’s legendary Shangri-La studio in Malibu. It’s a deeply self-assured record that showcases a broad scope, mixing in rock and pop seamlessly.

Beabadoobee is also set to hit the road with an extensive tour across the UK and the US. She will open for Mitski at London’s All Points East festival in August and headline the Radio 1 stage at Reading and Leeds. Following that, she’ll embark on a North American headline tour before returning to the UK for her biggest headline run yet, culminating at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace.

Reflecting on her new album, Beabadoobee shares, “I love this album. I feel like it’s helped me so much more than anything else has in navigating this new era, this new understanding of where I’m at. I guess it’s about becoming a woman.” She adds, “I think I’m more aware of my actions in these songs. In my previous records, I would consistently sing about my reaction towards other people’s doings, like a blame game. But in this record, it’s accepting that there’s an inevitability of my fault in there too. Whether it’s childhood trauma or relationship issues, it takes two to tango in everything.”
