British indie sensation Beabadoobee is set to release her third studio album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, on 16th August, announced by her label Dirty Hit.

The album, crafted in collaboration with legendary producer Rick Rubin and bandmate Jacob Bugden at the Shangri-La studio in Malibu, marks a new chapter in Beabadoobee’s career.

The lead single, ‘Take A Bite’, released alongside a stylish video directed by Jake Erland, showcases a fusion of taut guitars and soft vocals, reflecting on themes of chaos and self-awareness. Beabadoobee shared insights into the single, stating, “It’s me feeling introspective about my thoughts and unhealthy way of living. It’s finding comfort in a familiar place – finding comfort in chaos, because that’s what I know. So I bring it into every aspect of my life, especially with relationships. And it’s just tapping into this part of my brain where I just jump straight to the most negative, most chaotic thought ever known to man and make that into my reality.”

This Is How Tomorrow Moves is described as a journey through self-acceptance and introspection, a sort of love letter to her younger self. Beabadoobee expressed her connection to the album: “I love this album. I feel like it’s helped me so much more than anything else has in navigating this new era, this new understanding of where I’m at. I guess it’s about becoming a woman.”

The album also represents a reflective turn for the artist, as she acknowledges her own role in life’s complexities: “In my previous records, I would consistently sing about my reaction towards other people’s doings, like a blame game. But in this record, it’s accepting that there’s an inevitability of my fault in there too. Whether it’s childhood trauma or relationship issues, it takes two to tango in everything.”

This summer, Beabadoobee is poised to debut her new music on some of the UK’s largest stages, including headlining performances at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and the Reading and Leeds Festivals, as well as supporting Mitski at London’s All Points East festival.
