Indie-electro queen Lime Garden have just released their new single ‘Mother’ and announced a major US tour to boot, alongside support gigs for Bombay Bicycle Club.
They’re also gearing up to drop their debut album, One More Thing, on 16th February via So Young Records.
Chloe Howard, the band’s vocalist, shares her thoughts on ‘Mother,’ revealing, “This song is about the relationship with my mother evolving in tandem with my personal growth coming into adulthood. Coming to the understanding that my mother is just like me, someone trying their best to figure out life and not knowing 100% of the answers was a scary but beautiful realisation which bonded us.
“It’s cool how relationships shift and transform to match each phase of life. The song is the culmination of those feelings during adolescence and the realisation as an adult to appreciate our mothers.”
One More Thing, produced by Ali Chant (Perfume Genius, PJ Harvey, Yard Act), represents the culmination of Lime Garden’s journey since 2021. With a series of successful singles and non-stop touring, the band has made significant strides, as evidenced by their current B-List rotation on BBC Radio 6 Music with the single ‘I Want To Be With You.’
The album will be available in various formats, including standard red vinyl, a special Dinked edition Cornetto vinyl, and a unique Lime Garden edition blue vinyl.
After making waves at SXSW and European festivals like Glastonbury, where they played Billy Bragg’s Leftfield Stage, Lime Garden has solidified their position as one of the most exciting new indie bands. They were even nominated for the ANCHOR award at the Reeperbahn festival.
Lime Garden’s US tour will kick off in May with shows in major cities like New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Before that, they embark on a 2024 headline Europe tour, including Vida Showcase in Barcelona and Motel Mozaique Festival in Rotterdam in April. The band will also be touring in-store around the record’s release, followed by their most extensive UK headline tour to date, starting on 27th February at YES (Pink Room) in Manchester and ending with a hometown show in Brighton on 8th March.
One More Thing is a diary of four best friends growing up together. “I feel like you can hear us growing up in the songs,” Chloe Howard says, encapsulating the essence of their debut.
