Fred Again.. and Brian Eno are releasing a new album on Four Tet’s record label

Fred Again.. and Brian Eno are releasing a new album this week via Four Tet’s Text Records label.

Fred Again.. Brian Eno

Secret Life is set to drop on Friday, 5 May, with Four Tet – obviously with no small degree of bias – having called it “the most beautiful album of 2023”.

The news arrives two weeks after Fred Again.., Four Tet and Skrillex closed Coachella festival, with their set following Blink-182, who in turn had replaced Frank Ocean.

Four Tet, whose real name is Kieran Hebden, has also shared the album artwork ahead of the new release, depicting an obscured, sunsetting visual atop a park.

The Fred Again.. (whose real name Fred Gibson) and Brian Eno collaboration might arrive as news to some, but the pair have known each other for a long period.

Gibson was neighbours with Brian Eno when he was a kid and even joined his a-capella group. Eno would subsequently go on to be something of a mentor of Gibson – with advice from the ambient music pioneer and former Roxy Music member surely standing a young Fred Again.. in good stead for his now glittering career.

And now, in a full circle moment, fans of both artists will have a chance to hear the fruits of their labour this Friday.
