Eric Holder, the man accused of shooting and killing Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle in 2019, has been found guilty of murder.

Holder, 32, was convicted in a California court on Wednesday, after the jury deliberated for six hours. Holder was said to have known Nipsey Hussle, 33, born Ermias Asghedom, for several years before the shooting, which occurred outside a clothing store owned by the rapper.

Holder could get life in prison when sentenced in September, and was further found guilty of two counts of attempted manslaughter, as two other men were shot in the incident. Holder had already admitted to killing Hussle, with witnesses saying the two argued for ten minutes over rumours Holder was cooperating with police. He left the scene and returned with two handguns, before fatalling shooting Hussle.

Last week, ahead of the trial, Holder was attacked in jail. “Multiple individuals” were responsible, Holder’s public defender told CBS News. He was reportedly cut with a razor, and taken to hospital where he had a wound to his head closed with staples.
