The Libertines share new single ‘Shiver’

As the UK braces for the cold, The Libertines' latest single 'Shiver' offers an indie rock antidote to the winter chill.

The Libertines are back with a timely new single, ‘Shiver’, ahead of their fourth studio album All Quiet On The Esplanade, scheduled for release on 8th March.

The track results from a unique joint effort between bandmates Pete Doherty and Carl Barat. Carl shares, “Peter had a song, and I had a song, and we mashed them up and did it collaboratively.” Pete concurs: “I would probably find it difficult to work out who did what because we were both there the whole time through its creation”.

The official video for ‘Shiver’ was filmed in Margate, where the band has recently established their creative base. Directed by Alex Brown, the video is set against the backdrop of a seaside funeral. The monochrome homage to the pearly king, shot in locations like Cliftonville and The Albion Rooms, adds that cinematic quality.

‘Shiver’ is the third single from their upcoming album, culminating their musical journey from Margate to Jamaica with a touch of French influence.

Fans can expect a series of UK headline shows accompanying the album’s release, promising live renditions of ‘Shiver’ and other new tracks. Give it a spin below:
