The Libertines, led by Pete Doherty and Carl Barât, have delivered a touching homage to The Pogues’ late frontman Shane MacGowan with their rendition of ‘Fairy Tale Of New York’. Their performance, a blend of piano melodies and shared vocals, was shared on their official Instagram, captioned: “RIP Shane, this one’s for you matey x”.
This poignant gesture continued with another video showcasing the entire band performing the iconic Christmas tune on stage. The caption, “Another one for Shane x,” underlined their deep respect for MacGowan, who recently passed away at 65.
